Hey everyone! For today’s card I used this fun stamp set by Kindred Stamps called ” Raven Mad.” If you follow my affiliate link, Kindred Stamps will offer you 10% off your purchase! This is the set:

I love the different sentiments in this set, great for a recipient with a good sense of humor that loves or knows about Edgar Allan Poe.

This is my card:

I also used another stamp set to help me get some texture on the background. This is one of my go to background stamps and it was such a great price! I have definitely gotten my money’s worth. It may not be too easy to find since it came out some time ago but if you find it it is worth getting. It is called “It is Written” by Bo Bunny. This is what it looks like:

Here are the steps to complete the card:

  1. This card has 3 layers ( card base, color background, and the front layer where the stamping goes. Make sure to cut the layers accordingly so a little bit of the frame shows the layer behind.
  2. Ink edges of top layer with the color of your choice, in this case I used Tea Dye Distress Oxide Ink
  3. Stamp the raven stamp in various spots to create the background using a grey ink. I used River Stone by FSJ. I also used this grey ink to create some scratches around background using a small brush.
  4. Stamp a couple of images using both the words and music stamps from It is written. I used the same Tea Dye ink.
  5. Stamp sentiment and Poe image using an alcohol friendly black ink, I used Black Licorice by FSJ. I will be coloring with Copics so this ink will work.
  6. Color Poe’s Image
  7. Cut sentiment into a small rectangle.
  8. Cut the Second layer piece, in this case I used a double sided burgundy cardstock, and I also used this cardstock to make a little stand for the Poe image, and a little box background for the sentiment.
  9. Curl edges of all burgundy paper. The box for the sentiment is using the flip side of this paper which I torn edges for a distress look.
  10. Adhere pieces together, adding some foam tape to Poe’s image and the sentiment.
  11. Ink edges of the white card base front using the same River Stone Ink.
  12. Adhere the front layers to card base using foam tape.
  13. Add some FSJ Glaze to the image’s hair, mustache and mouth, coat and shoes. Set it aside to dry.
  14. Now your card is complete.

Approx. time to complete 30 minutes.

Let me know if you have done any projects with this stamp set, and don’t forget if you follow my affiliate link at no extra cost to you, it will give you 10% off your purchase from Kindred Stamps!
