Hi There!

I wanted to share this very easy and quick card I made using this oldie but goodie die called Medallion 8 by Spellbinders. I have had it for a while now but had never used it (just like many, many items in my craft room.) But today I noticed I am running low on my birthday cards so I decided to make one.

As far as colors go, I wanted to make it in different shades of the same color and greens is a color that I happen to have different papers on, so I choose greens. You can use any color you choose, I think this would even look spectacular all in white cardstock. Hmm, maybe I will try that next, it would make a pretty Religious card or even a wedding one.

Let’s talk about this small but mighty die set! The Medallion 8 Die Set comes with 3 different pieces, and I really like the fact that you can choose to just cut the inside part in your card (I tried it and it looked really good as well), or you can use the outer die in conjunction, and it will cut out the outside shape. It also has a small die to cut out the center, or you can cut an actual piece out and make it more dimensional like I did on my card.

Since this die set came out some time ago it may not be the easiest to find, I did however find it on Amazon, you can check it out via my affiliate link (thank you bunches!)

How I made the card:

  1. The first step is cardstock color selection, then cut out the medallion using the outer die in 2 different colors (one light and one dark). Also die cut the circle piece that will go on top of the medallion.
  2. Once cut you are ready to assemble. Adhere the 2 medallions together by using foam tape for added dimension, then glue down the bottom piece to the middle of your card base of choice.
  3. Stamp your sentiment under the medallion. Now you are ready to embellish.
  4. I used White Blizzard Glitter Drops by Nuvo on different areas of the medallion. I also used Fun Stampers Journey Sparkle Silk to splatter on the card base. And now your card is finished! Simple huh?

I hope you enjoyed the card, and if you are interested in the Medallion die set please visit my affiliate link, I appreciate your support for this blog 😉

Until next time,
